India’s first 800 meter long cable bridge with restaurant facility on the pillar in Punjab is going to be built over the river Beas. Six lanes will pass through this bridge. It will be built near village Dhunda of Goindwal Sahib. The reason for the construction of the cable bridge is the freshwater dolphins that live in this river. The highway authority has to construct 40 side facilities in the Rs 39 thousand crore expressway project. Under this, restaurants, shopping areas and business premises will be found along the highway.
It will be constructed under the Delhi-Amritsar-Jammu-Katra Expressway project. Approval has also been received for this work. There will be a restaurant gallery on the piers of the cable bridge. The bridge will have 7 pillars. The bridge slab will be supported by cables. Lifts will be fitted in these piers, through which the passengers will be able to go up and see the beautiful view of the river. There will also be a way-side facility on the side of the highway.
According to information, its construction will take 2 years. After this, travelers from the country and abroad going to visit Sri Darbar Sahib will be able to enjoy this new tourist destination. The 262.456 km route of the expressway starting from Delhi will come in Punjab. It has been decided to use cable bridge technology with minimum construction within the river.
2 bridges will be constructed separately on Kali Khadi in Kapurthala, the length of which will be 100 meters and the length will be 105 meters. Traditional concrete girders will be used in these. The focus on tourism along the bridge is due to the uniqueness of the route. Those going to Sri Darbar Sahib, Sri Durgiana Mandir, Sri Ramtirtha, Radha Swami Dera Beas, Attari Border will pass through this route.
