About 1.42 crore beneficiaries of the state will be able to get flour at home through this scheme. The government will distribute 72500 metric tons of ration every month under this scheme. According to the draft of the scheme National Food security (Security) Under the act, wheat has been distributed for the period from October to December and its distribution among the beneficiaries has also started. Beneficiaries will get home delivery in January next year. The government has also identified three dozen flour mills for grinding wheat.

Flour will be delivered every month

Flour millers will pick up the wheat from the warehouses and deliver it to the flour ration depot after milling. Flour mills will pack flour in 5 and 10 kg packs. Criticism of Punjab government’s decision by opponents

BJP’s Punjab President Sunil Jakhar has alleged that the Chief Minister is trying to gain false kudos by changing the name of the central government’s Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana. Congress leader Pratap Bajwa, while criticizing the format of the scheme, has said that the beneficiaries are likely to get spoiled flour, so home delivery of wheat should be done instead of flour.
