Workshop on Gender and Education at Hindu College, University of Delhi, know how the efforts of the students

New Delhi : A workshop on Gender and Education was organized on Friday at Hindu College, North Campus, University of Delhi. This program was organized under the joint aegis of Hindu College Women’s Development Cell and voluntary organization Nirantar. One thing emerged from the conversation of the invited guests in this workshop that people from all sections of the society will have to work together for gender equality.

In this workshop organized on the topic of Gender and Education, Sohni Hershey, Head of Communication, Researcher and Field Facilitator Aastha Bamba and The Third Eye Hindi Editor Suman Parmar of Nirantar Sanstha’s web portal ‘The Third Eye’, gender, sexuality, violence, technology and education. Informed the students on various aspects of The topics of gender discrimination prevalent in the Indian society were explained to the participants in the workshop through some videos.

In this workshop, Suman Parmar told the students in detail that whose perspective becomes the basis of our knowledge? She also clarified the relationship between gender and education, showing the importance of diversity in education. Satisfying the curiosity of the participants, Aastha Bamba answered many questions. Hershey said that with the help of young students, gender discrimination can definitely be ended in the country.

Earlier, the counselor of Women’s Development Cell, Prof. Rachna Singh clarified the outline of the workshop. In the workshop, the students of various subjects of Undergraduate Arts and Undergraduate Science Department played an important role. Dr. Vimalendu Tirthankar, Dr. Pallav and Dr. Ramesh Kumar Raj of Hindi Department made their invaluable contribution in organizing this program. At the end of the program, Kumari Priyansha, Vice President of Hindu College Women’s Development Cell expressed gratitude to the visiting guests.
