Nearly 83 per cent of women believe that more action needs to be taken to stop trolling, exploitation, abuse, extortion and fraud against them, LocalCircles reported in the study, which is causing women to spend more time using the internet. to feel safe. According to the survey, the biggest concerns of urban women while using the internet are online sexual exploitation, trolling, abuse, extortion and fraud.

Who all were included in the survey?

The study received responses from nearly 23,000 participants from 301 urban districts in the country, of whom 61 per cent were male while 39 per cent were female. According to the report, 48 per cent of these were from class I, 35 per cent from class II and 17 per cent from class III and IV cities. Local Circles says that it will also share the results revealed in this survey with the central ministries, which include the Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of Women and Child Development, Ministry of Electronics and IT etc. (with language input)
