Coronavirus Cases in Chandigarh: Along with the increase in the rate of corona cases in many parts of the country, the number of patients is also increasing in Chandigarh for the last one week. The health department has advised doctors, paramedical staff and health care workers in hospitals as well as general public to wear masks in crowded areas to prevent the spread of corona virus.

It should be said that the Chandigarh Health Department has issued an advisory on Monday in view of the increasing cases of Corona. It has advised people to strictly follow infection control measures.

Know what is in the advisory of the health department-

Always wear a mask in public places.

Cover nose and mouth with handkerchief/tissue while sneezing or coughing. Discard the tissue in a closed container immediately after use.

Avoid going to crowded places. Social distance (at least one meter) should be maintained in public places.

Wash your hands frequently. Wash hands with soap and water or use an alcohol-based hand rub.

See a doctor in case of discomfort (fever, difficulty breathing and cough).

Get a booster dose of the Covid vaccine and get your children vaccinated too.

Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth with your hands.

Do not spit in public places.

Get a covid test when symptoms of corona appear.

Number of corona cases in Chandigarh

Five new corona patients were found in Chandigarh on Monday. The infection rate has reached 2.04 percent. In the last 24 hours, the health department examined 245 patients. While more than 300 tests were conducted on Saturday and Sunday. The number of active cases has increased to 33. The infected patients include three women and two men. Four patients who completed the last seven days of quarantine have been discharged. Four patients are admitted in hospitals on oxygen beds.

On the other hand, none of the children aged 12 to 14 years were vaccinated on Monday. So far, only 55.33 percent of the children of this age group have received the second dose of Corona and 81 percent of the children have received the first dose. This percentage of vaccination is quite low compared to other age groups.

Condition of beds in hospitals

Oxygen beds in hospitals are still empty in view of preparations for the corona epidemic. PGI currently has a total of 380 beds, of which 376 are vacant. GMCH-32 has a total of 165 beds, in which not a single patient is admitted. GMCH-48 has 84 beds and not a single patient is admitted. GMCH 16 has 230 beds and Civil Hospital-45 has 27 beds. Not a single patient is admitted in these two hospitals.
