The Samudrayan project is completely indigenous. It is a submersible, named Matsya 6000. Titanium alloy has been used to make it. Its diameter is 2.1 meters. It will take three men to a depth of 6000 meters for 12 hours. It has an emergency endurance of 96 hours.

All its parts are currently under construction. The mission is expected to be launched in 2026. After the successful launch, India will join the ‘elite club’ of countries like USA, Russia, France, Japan and China. These countries have special technology and vehicles available for such activities.
