The Punjab Vigilance Bureau today arrested Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) Sukhdev Singh posted at Police Station Reform in Ludhiana district in a case of bribery.
It may be mentioned that under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act, FIR No. 48 was registered on 16.06.2023 at the Police Station Reform and later the investigation of the matter was handed over to the Vigilance Bureau Ludhiana Range.
Giving information in this regard, the spokesperson of Vigilance Bureau said that the complainant alleged that ASI. Sukhdev Singh had taken a bribe of Rs 1500 in exchange for leaving his seized auto rickshaw and the accused ASI. had taken a bribe of Rs 2500 from him before this. The complainant said ASI. A video of taking a bribe of Rs 1500 from him was also presented.
He said that the said ASI was absconding and his anticipatory bail was rejected by the Court of Additional Sessions Judge, Ludhiana.
The spokesperson said that the team of Vigilance Bureau Ludhiana range today ASI. Sukhdev Singh has been arrested from Gagewal village of Barnala district and he will be produced in court tomorrow.
