Kolkata. CISF and Custom’s Air Intelligence Unit jointly arrested three Bangladeshi passengers at Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport, seizing US $ 1,90,000 and Canadian $ 19,000. The names of the three arrested are Shafikul Islam, Mohammad Naseeruddin and Firoz Alam. The Indian value of the foreign currency seized from them is said to be around 1.65 crores. It is being told that one of the three was carrying foreign currency by hiding it in his mobile cover. But after catching one, the rest two were also caught after questioning. All three have been handed over to the custom.

Three Bangladeshis were arrested

According to sources, the boarding of the flight from Kolkata to Dhaka was completed at 5.45 am on Tuesday. CISF officials got suspicious after seeing a mobile in the hand of a passenger. The officer moved towards him. He asked many questions and wanted to see the mobile. When the cover of the mobile was opened, his eyes were teary. Foreign currency was hidden in the cover of the mobile phone. A large number of US dollars were recovered from there.

19 thousand Canadian dollars recovered from inside the jacket

It is said that on the basis of suspicion, the officials interrogated and searched the passenger Shafiqul Islam. It is learned that US dollars were hidden behind his two mobile phones. After questioning him, the officials got the names of two more passengers. When the officers searched Mohammad Naseeruddin, 19,000 Canadian dollars were recovered from inside his jacket. Then the officials came to know about the passenger Firoz Alam from him. On searching him, a large number of US dollars were also recovered from him.

After interrogating the three passengers, the officers of the Central Industrial Security Force handed them over to the officials of the Air Intelligence Wing of the Customs Department. Customs officers are interrogating three Bangladeshi passengers in custody. A total of 1,90,000 US dollars and 19,000 Canadian currency have been recovered from them.
