Vigilance arrested a person taking a bribe of 4 lakh rupees

Chief Minister Punjab During the anti-bribery campaign launched by the Punjab Vigilance Bureau under the policy of zero tolerance against corruption adopted by the government of Bhagwant Mann, a private person, Rashim Garg, a resident of Samana, district Patiala, has been caught red-handed while accepting a bribe of 4 lakh rupees at Bathinda today. He describes himself as a close associate of the Aam Aadmi Party MLA.

Giving this information here today, the spokesperson of the Vigilance Bureau said that the above accused has been arrested on the basis of the complaint made by Pritpal Kumar, husband of Sarpanch Seema Rani of Village Ghuda, Block Sangat, District Bathinda. He said that the said Sarpanch and her husband approached the Vigilance Bureau and alleged that the said accused had accepted a bribe of Rs. but she did not want to pay bribe for this work but he has forcibly taken Rs 50,000 from her as first installment and is repeatedly asking for the remaining bribe amount.

After the preliminary investigation of the said complaint, the Vigilance Bureau laid a trap and arrested the said accused red-handed in the presence of two government witnesses after receiving a bribe of Rs. 4 lakh as the second installment from the complainant. In this regard, a case has been registered against the said accused at Bathinda police station of the Vigilance Bureau under the Prevention of Corruption Act and further proceedings have been initiated.
