Union Budget 2023: 100 labs will be set up to develop 5G apps and services, Finance Minister announced

New Delhi. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has announced that the government will set up 100 labs for 5G apps across the country. Apps for 5G services will be developed in these labs. Apart from this, these labs will be used as incubators to train students, promote innovation and research and experimentation. Apart from this, the Finance Minister has also announced to set up three Centers of Excellence in the country to give India an edge in Artificial Intelligence (AI).

Earlier, IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnav had also claimed to set up 100 5G labs across the country. The minister had said that he would set up 100 5G labs across the country. During this, he requested the telecom industry to stand together and convert at least 12 of these 100 labs into telecom incubators to train students.

Service started in many cities
Let us tell you that Prime Minister Narendra Modi started 5G services in India last year. Since then, the service has been started in many cities across the country. At present, only Reliance Jio and Airtel telecom companies are providing 5G service in the country. Airtel has rolled out 5G service in Delhi, Mumbai, Varanasi, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Siliguri, Kolkata, Patna and Gurugram.

On the other hand, Jio has launched JIO TRUE 5G service in Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Varanasi, Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Siliguri, Kolkata, Panipat, Nagpur, Gurugram and Guwahati.
