WhatsApp has suspended more than 36 lakh Indian accounts. These accounts are closed between December 1 and December 31. The company said that 36.77 lakh Indian accounts have been banned between December 1, 2022 and December 31, 2022. Of these, 13.89 lakh accounts have been closed on the basis of complaints by Indian users. The company said appeals from WhatsApp users rose by nearly 70 percent to 1,607 in December, including appeals to ban 1,459 accounts, compared to 946 complaints in November. Out of which the company processed only 166 appeals.
