Agartala. Voting has concluded for the Tripura Assembly Elections. EVMs are being sealed and secured at polling stations. According to the Election Commission, around 81 per cent polling was recorded till 4 pm for the 60-member state assembly. The polling started at seven in the morning.

There are a total of 28.13 lakh voters in the state and 3,337 polling stations have been set up. There are 259 candidates in the fray in the state. EVM glitches were reported at 40-45 places, but all those machines were replaced and polling resumed.

Till 3 pm, 69.96 per cent polling was recorded in the state. Whereas, 51.35% polling was recorded till 1 pm, 32.06% till 11 am and 13.69% till 9 am.

Adequate security arrangements have been made with 97 all women police stations for polling. 94,815 voters are in the age group of 18-19 while 6,21,505 voters are in the age group of 22-29. The maximum number of voters is 9,81,089 in the age group of 40-59.
