Bureau Reporter: There has been a new twist in the game of one-upmanship between the Governor and the Chief Minister of Punjab. Earlier, the Governor did not seal the files containing the decisions of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, now CM Mann has stamped the files of the Governor.

Disgruntled Governor Banwari Lal Purohit wrote not one but two letters on Thursday. Earlier there was the issue of SSP transfer of Mining and Tarn Taran. The second letter was about the non-passing of 6 files by the Raj Bhavan by the Punjab government. For this, Governor Purohit once again wrote a letter to the Punjab government and asked the reason. In fact, this is the first time that the files sent by the Governor’s office have been stopped. While till now the governor’s office was the only one to stop the files of the Punjab government and ask questions.

Information not being provided to the Governor’s office

6 files have been blocked by the Punjab government. The surprising thing is that the Punjab government is not sharing the information of these 6 files only after being asked by the Governor’s office. The Governor has said in the letter that according to his information, 6 cases are being suspended by the government for a long time. Among them are the files of Officer on Special Duty (OSD) Colonel SS Kohli posted with the Governor, the post of Controller Governor’s Office and the Governor’s Private Secretary Madan Lal.

Files related to salary are also withheld

Governor Banwari Lal Purohit has written that apart from three issues, the matter of giving special salary to the employees in the Punjab Raj Bhavan, the service rules of the employees of the Punjab Raj Bhavan and the issues related to the salary of the raw employees working in the Punjab Raj Bhavan are pending. The Governor has finally expressed hope that 6 cases should be resolved immediately and sent to the Raj Bhavan office. So that further action can be initiated.
