Jalandhar-Pathankot Smoke started coming out from under the AC compartment of the Kranti Express on Saturday morning near the village of Karala on the railway track. The driver immediately applied the brakes. Due to the smoke, there was chaos among the passengers. After which the fire brigade team of the area also reached the spot for investigation. However, there was nothing to fear in this incident. The train has been re-launched after minor repairs.

According to the information, the Uttar Kranti Express train was going to Pathankot. When this train passed Tanda railway station at around half past eight, the station master saw that smoke and sparks were coming out from the wheels of B-5 coach of the train. After the smoke came out, the passengers traveling in the train started having difficulty in breathing. After which the matter was reported to the nearby station master.

He conveyed this information to the train driver through the railway department, after which the train driver stopped the train near village Kurala, about four kilometers from Tanda. The passengers got off the train and started running towards the railway track.

However, the smoke was not due to fire, but due to rupture of brake rubber. On the spot, the employees inside the train immediately put out the smoke with the help of fire extinguishers. Due to the cleverness of the train driver and the railway department, a major train accident was avoided and the train left for its journey.
