The study found that taking a light walk for two to five minutes after eating can keep the blood sugar level under control to a large extent. People involved in the study were divided into two groups – one group that sat after a meal and the other group that walked after a meal. The group that walked for two to five minutes after eating saw a decrease in blood sugar, while the group that sat after eating saw an increase in blood sugar.

The research also found that participants who walked for two to five minutes every half hour had a significant reduction in blood sugar. Researchers found that compared to sitting or standing, walking after a meal reduced blood sugar.
