The Vigilance Bureau took an oath to eradicate corruption on the occasion of Vigilance Awareness Week

To create a corruption-free state, awareness programs will be held throughout Punjab

‘Vigilance Awareness Week’ will be observed by Punjab Vigilance Bureau till 5th November with determined efforts to promote accountability, honesty and transparency in administration among society and government officials/employees. With this year’s message ‘Say No to Corruption: Commit to the Nation’, the week will be dedicated to spreading awareness about the ill effects of corruption.

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann started this week from today by giving an effective message to the people. He has appealed to the citizens to support the government in the fight against corruption with the common desire of a corruption-free administration.

In his message, the Chief Minister urged people to share correct information by contacting the anti-corruption action line number 95012-00200 through WhatsApp. He assured that every case of corruption will be dealt with strictly under the unwavering commitment of the government to eradicate corruption.

Giving information about these initiatives, DGP-cum-Chief Director of Vigilance Bureau Varinder Kumar said that the purpose of this week-long awareness campaign is to promote the active role of people in the collective mission of eradicating corruption from government offices and society. To be sure He said that the ‘Vigilance Awareness Week’ reflects the shared responsibility for creating a corruption free Punjab.

The Vigilance Bureau chief further informed that during this week all the regional authorities will make efforts to involve the people as enthusiastic participants in the noble task of making a ‘corruption free state’.

He further said that this week will act as a source of motivation for the officers/employees to effectively implement preventive measures while maintaining transparency and accountability.

Chief Director Varinder Kumar called upon all officers and employees to work diligently, clear the backlog of pending vigilance cases and give further impetus to the fight against corruption.

During the inauguration of the Vigilance Awareness Week, Vigilance Bureau Joint Director Administration, Kanwaldeep Singh administered the oath of integrity to all officers and employees of the Bureau. On this occasion, Gursevak Singh and Arun Saini (both Joint Directors), Manmohan Kumar, Daljit Singh, and Digvijay Kapil (all AIGs), SSP. Vigilance Bureau Range Ferozepur Gurmeet Singh and all officers/employees of Head Office attended the oath taking ceremony.

The Vigilance Chief further informed that Vigilance Awareness Week was observed in all Vigilance Ranges and Sub-Divisions where all Field Officers/Employees took oath of integrity emphasizing the need to uphold high ethical standards in their services. He further said that SSPs of the range for this whole week. Many awareness programs have also been designed for educational institutions and offices.
