Amritsar : The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee has taken important decisions regarding the printing of a beautiful illustrated book about Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib and new publications on the history of Sikhism. These decisions have been taken during the meeting of the Sikh History Research Board held under the chairmanship of Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami at the head office of the Shiromani Committee.

Meanwhile, permission has been given to prepare a research-rich book on the occasion of the first centenary of the Jaito Morche in future research works, to compile the 100-year history of the SGPC, and to reprint important documents published in the past.

Regarding the decisions of the meeting, Advocate Dhami said that an important documentary book will be prepared about the history of Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib and the shrines here. Apart from historical details and references, various pictures will also be recorded in it. This commemorative book will be in English language, which will be sent to important places in the country and abroad, apart from giving it to the prominent personalities coming here. He said that the Sikh History Research Board has also decided to pen the 100-year history of the Shiromani Committee. Prior to this, 50 years of history was collected by the Shiromani Committee. Now the Shiromani Committee has completed its 100-year journey and the important decisions, panth works and achievements taken during this time will be conveyed to the people.

The Shiromani Committee President said that many important research works were done by the Sikh History Research Board in the past, including the research paper called ‘Historical Letter’. The previous issues of this research paper are very important, which will be republished and after that it will also be considered to continue its new series. Its aim is to attract Sikh researchers towards research on the subject of history. He also said that research work will also be conducted on the basis of contemporary newspapers about Gurdwara reform movement, Shiromani Committee, Shiromani Akali Dal and Gadar movement. Along with this, actions will also be taken to establish an active forum to respond to anti-Sikh narratives on social media. A three-member committee has been formed in this regard, which will prepare the outline.
