After the FIR was registered by the SGPC, the police issued a summons to the team of the film Yaariyan 2, after which the producers of Yaariyan 2 have taken a big step.
The film Yaariyan team has apologized in writing to SGPC, Shri Akal Takht Sahib and the entire Sikh community and said that such a mistake will not happen again. SGPC has objected to it, Secretary Pratap Singh has rejected it. To avoid legal action, the film’s producers Vinay Sapru, Radhika Rao and T Series Group have apologized to the Jathedhar of Shri Akal Takht Sahib Raghbir Singh and said that they are changing the scene from the film and YouTube. He has asked not to make this mistake again.
SGPC said that Kirpan can only be worn by an Amritdhari Sikh, but the way it has been mocked in the film cannot be tolerated at all. The committee said that we have demanded several times that a member of the Shiromani Committee should be appointed in the Censor Board so that such scenes are stopped before they are published.
