Indian hockey team player and Arjuna award winner Varun Kumar is in trouble these days. Recently POCSO Act on Varun Kumar under There was an allegation of rape, which Varun has described as false. A woman has alleged that Varun sexually abused her several times when she was a minor, following which the Bengaluru police have registered a case against the hockey player.
What explanation did Varun Kumar give?
In her complaint filed on Monday, the 22-year-old woman has said that in 2018 Instagram came in contact with Varun through , and when she was 17 years old, the actor raped her several times on the pretext of marriage. Varun has written to Hockey India president Dilip Tirkey claiming that the complaint lodged against him is false.
Varun has written that I have come to know from media reports that the girl with whom I was in a relationship in the past has registered a false case against me. Varun said that this matter is nothing but an attempt to extort money from me and tarnish my reputation and image as I am a renowned hockey player and play for India and am an Arjuna awardee. The accusing girl knows that such a case can spoil my career and image.
