The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee has started the process of sending a delegation on the matter of converting the Gurdwara Sahib belonging to the first Patshah Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji to a Buddhist shrine at Mechuka in Arunachal Pradesh. After the matter came to light in the past, Shiromani Committee President Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami strongly condemned it and demanded action from the government.

Accordingly, Shiromani Committee President Advocate Dhami has decided to send a high-level delegation. SGPC General Secretary Bhai Gurcharan Singh Grewal, Member Advocate Bhagwant Singh Sialka, Sikh Historian Colonel Dalwinder Singh Grewal have been included in this delegation to Arunachal Pradesh, while Shiromani Committee Deputy Secretary Jaswinder Singh Jassi has been appointed as the coordinator.

Satbir Singh, OSD of the Shiromani Committee President, while giving information about this, said that the abolition of the existence of the Sikh shrine is very worrying, seeing which advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami has decided to send a high level delegation to the local level for investigation. . He said that the SGPC delegation will go to Mechuka to take stock of the current situation of the respective shrine and will also discuss the matter with the representatives of the Arunachal Pradesh government. He said that high officials of Shiromani Committee, legal experts and Sikh scholars have been included in this committee, so that the matter can be investigated from all sides.

OSD s. Satbir Singh also said that Shiromani Committee President Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami has formed a committee on the issue of wrong information about Sikh history in NCERT books. In this, Khalsa College Senior Secondary School Principal Sikh scholar Dr. Inderjit Singh Gogoani, Jathedar Gurcharan Singh Tohra Gurmati Institute Bahadurgarh Patiala Director Chamkaur Singh and Head of History Department of Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University Sri Fatehgarh Sahib have been taken.

This committee was in charge of Sikh History Research Board Dr. Jogeshwar Singh will coordinate. It is to be mentioned that in the book of NCERT, there was a case of showing the resolution of Sri Anandpur Sahib as separatist, regarding which the Shiromani Committee has constituted this committee. It is also to be mentioned that earlier, taking notice of the matter, the SGPC has written letters to the Education Minister, Education Secretary and NCERT Director of the Government of India.
