The last Sikh soldier who participated in World War-II received the 'Points of Light' award, PM Sunak honored

101-Year-Old Sikh Honoured Points Of Light Award: British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak honored the 101-year-old veteran of Indian origin with the Points of Light Award on Wednesday. Let it be known that ex-serviceman Rajinder Singh Dutt is the last surviving Sikh soldier who participated in World War II. British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak presented the honor to Rajinder Singh Dutt during the UK-India Week held at his official residence 10 Downing Street.

Rajinder Singh Dutt’s contribution was recognized through the efforts of the ‘Undivided Indian Ex-Servicemen’s Association’ in Britain. Let it be known that this association works to bring together Indian British ex-soldiers and for their welfare. Rajinder Singh Dutt was born in the year 1921 in undivided India. Dhatt fought on the British side in World War II and later settled in Britain with his family in 1963.

Dhatt said this on the occasion of receiving the award

On being honored with the Points of Light Award, Rajinder Singh Dutt said that it is an honor to receive the award from the hands of the Prime Minister. Dhat also thanked the Undivided Indian Ex-Servicemen Association. Let us tell you that the Points of Light Award is given to those people, who bring change in the society through their work and whose story inspires others. UK-India Week is being celebrated at 10 Downing Street these days. India Global Forum is organizing it to strengthen bilateral relations.
