The High Court has refused to grant anticipatory bail to former Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh’s advisor Bharat Inder Chahal. Vigilance is investigating the disproportionate assets case. The court has ordered the vigilance to submit a status report of the entire case after which a decision will be taken to file an FIR. Justice Raj Mohan Singh asked Bharat Inder Chahal to appear before the vigilance and submit whatever records he has to the authorities.

Before this, Bharat Inder Chahal was also summoned on May 15 by vigilance. The vigilance went to his house at Tawakli Morb and handed over summons to the security guards. The security guards asked the vigilance team to hand over summons to Bharat Inder Chahal when he came to his house.

Vigilance has also posted notices outside Chahal’s house and palace, but despite the team’s action, Chahal did not arrive to join the investigation. The situation is not clear whether he will appear before the investigation team this time as well.

The technical team of Patiala Vigilance Bureau has also conducted a physical examination of the properties of Bharat Inder Singh Chahal. The team has measured their marriage palace and shopping mall located at Patiala Sirhind Road. In the meantime, after the flaws that came to light, notices have been issued to Chahal by the Vigilance to join the investigation.
