Two former students of Nagar (Mohali) Ivraj Kaur and Prabhasimran Kaur have today received commission as Flying Officers in Indian Air Force after training from Air Force Academy, Dundigal, Hyderabad, which is a matter of great pride for this institution. Flying Officer Ivraj Kaur, who will join the Flying Branch as a helicopter pilot, is the daughter of Jaspreet Singh, a farmer from Rupnagar district, while Flying Officer Prabhasimran Kaur’s father, Paramjit Singh, is also a farmer from Gurdaspur district. Prabhasimran will be appointed in the Education Branch of the Air Force.
Punjab Minister for Employment Generation, Skill Development and Training Aman Arora congratulated both the newly appointed officers and said that the fathers of these daughters of Punjab are farmers and their success will definitely benefit the children of small towns and villages of Punjab. It will inspire to serve the country by becoming a commissioned officer in the services.
It is worth mentioning that Mai Bhago A. F. P. I., functioning under the Department of Employment Generation, Skill Development and Training, Punjab, has a residential campus with state-of-the-art infrastructure and is the only campus of its kind in the country. The cabinet minister said that to realize the dream of girls of the state to join the defense services to serve the country, the Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has recently launched Mai Bhago A. F. P. I. In N. D. A. has approved the establishment of Preparatory Wing (Girls), where training will begin from July this year.
