The DGP said, action has been taken against those who spread rumors in the social media. The channels were requested to remove the content spreading rumours, but action was taken against them for not agreeing. The DGP said, so far nine cases have been registered. He said, rumors are very dangerous and can create havoc, people should not forward such posts which are highly defamatory.
Situation peaceful in Tamil Nadu: DGP
DGP C Silendra Babu said, the situation in Tamil Nadu is peaceful. He told that no such attack has taken place on Bihari workers or workers of any other state.

Tamil Nadu migrant workers ‘attacked’ case: lawyer seeks transit anticipatory bail
A lawyer on Monday moved the Delhi High Court seeking transit anticipatory bail in an FIR registered by the state police for allegedly giving false information claiming attacks on migrant laborers in Tamil Nadu. Police said that the FIR was lodged against Prashant Kumar Umrao, a lawyer by profession, whose official Twitter handle states that he is the spokesperson of the Uttar Pradesh unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party. An FIR has been registered against Umrao under various sections of the Indian Penal Code for inciting riots, promoting enmity and hatred, breach of peace and making inflammatory statements. The Thoothukudi Central Police Station in Tamil Nadu had registered an FIR.
