The ongoing political uproar over the SYL issue in Punjab does not seem to be stopping. Sukhbir Singh Badal has sent a legal notice to Chief Minister Hon. In fact, on the occasion of Punjab Day on November 1, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann called a debate on SYL and other issues of Punjab. In which Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has accused former Chief Minister and Shiromani Akali Dal president Sukhbir Singh Badal’s father Parkash Singh Badal of pursuing water supply to Haryana.
Following on my statement 10 days back, I have now sent a legal notice to CM @BhagwantMann to submit a written apology within 5 days vis a vis malicious utterances aimed at maligning the reputation of me and my family by alleging that we had compromised Punjabs river water pic.twitter.com/H79f6X7M2n

Sukhbir Singh Badal described all the allegations as baseless
Earlier, Sukhbir Badal had asked CM Bhagwant Mann to apologize for the allegations leveled against his father and former Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal during the debate. Sukhbir Singh Badal warned that otherwise he would file a defamation case against the Chief Minister. During the debate, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann had said that Parkash Singh Badal was in favor of providing water to Haryana through the construction of the SYL Canal during his tenure as Chief Minister. Shiromani Akali Dal president Sukhbir Singh Badal had termed these allegations as baseless.
Sukhbir Singh Badal said that Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has told a lot of lies and presented false facts during this debate. Parkash Singh Badal always opposed SYL and did not let water out of Punjab but Bhagwant Mann lied a lot about it in his debate. Whatever development works have taken place in Punjab, they have taken place only during the tenure of Parkash Singh Badal.
