Sukhbir Singh Badal: Shiromani Akali Dal President Sardar Sukhbir Singh Badal warmly welcomed two Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee members on joining the Akali Dal. Both of them had supported the candidature of Bibi Jagir Kaur during the election of Shiromani Committee president.

He honored Shiromani Committee member Harpal Singh Jalla from Payal and Amrik Singh Janaitpura member from Ambala by presenting them with siropao on joining the Akali Dal. On this occasion, the Shiromani Committee president said that 10 to 15 more Shiromani Committee members who supported the candidature of Bibi Jagir Kaur would join the Akali Dal in the coming days.

He appealed to all the leaders who had left the Akali Dal during the past years to rejoin their mother party. Badal said that if I have done any mistake, I apologize for it, but it is very important for us to unite to defeat the forces that are conspiring to weaken the panth.

While Harpal Singh Jalla has rejoined the Akali Dal, Amrik Singh Janitpur is an independent elected member. Both the members expressed full confidence in the leadership of the Akali Dal president and assured that he would work to strengthen the party at all levels.

On this occasion Sardar Sukhbir Singh Badal said that earlier this week another Shiromani Committee member Sardar Harpreet Singh Garcha had rejoined the party along with his father and former minister Sardar Jagdeep Singh Garcha. He said that more members will soon rejoin the party.

Sukhbir Singh Badal emphasized that the Shiromani Committee members have realized that Bibi Jagir Kaur was part of the conspiracy to divide the Sikh community and weaken the panth. He said that the group members have decided to unite against these anti-cult forces.
