The Guru Nanak Darbar Gurdwara in Gracesand has warned on its social media pages that people are being scammed by offering free food and travel tickets for job opportunities, which needs to be avoided.

Gurdwara General Secretary Jagdev Singh Virdi said that a girl came here a few days ago, she asked about a job for her father, referring to Ishtiyar, then she got information about this fraud. According to Virdi, after that many people have contacted him for a job through WhatsApp, but no such offer was given by him. He said that many people have shared their information with him. The general secretary said that the website address that the fraudsters have given is the same as the website of the Gurdwara.

Virdi said that after giving fake offer letters, lakhs of rupees are being cheated in the name of obtaining travel tickets and visas from rogue people. Thugs lure people to earn lakhs of rupees and they are getting cheated because of the ghost rider of England. The Gurudwara Management Committee of England asked the Punjabis not to fall for such deception and waste their money. The General Secretary said that the photo of Guru Nanak Darbar Gurdwara, Gracesand which is being shown on the fake website does not come under GNDG. Gurdwara management committee has complained about this to Kent and National Home Office.

On the other hand, the Kent Police said that they have received a complaint from the Gurdwara Sahib, they are investigating it, that people are being cheated in the name of jobs in the Gurdwara. 15,000 Sikhs live in Gravesend.
