Sports Ministry has taken big action on WFI. The sports ministry has suspended the entire new team of the wrestling association. All the decisions taken by the new president Sanjay Singh have been canceled by the ministry. Lack of transparency in elections has been cited for this action.

The ministry said that the president of the newly elected body, Sanjay Kumar Singh, had announced on December 21 that the junior national competitions would begin before the end of this year. The ministry said it is against the rules and requires at least 15 days' notice so that the wrestlers can prepare.

The ministry also alleged that the new body appears to be under the complete control of previous office-bearers who were accused of sexual abuse.

“It appears that the newly elected body is under the control of the former office-bearers with total disregard for the code of conduct,” the ministry said.
