Punjab Sports Minister Gurmeet Singh Meet Hare has handed over a check of Rs 5 lakh to athlete Akshdeep. Meet Hare met athlete Akshdeep at his residence in Chandigarh. On the instructions of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, the Sports Minister has honored Akshdeep Singh, the first Indian athlete to qualify in the race walking event for the Paris Olympics.

Let us tell that Akshdeep Singh has created a national record by completing the 20 km walking race in 1.19.55 minutes in the National Walking Championship held in Ranchi. Sports Minister Meet Hare expressed the hope that Akshdeep Singh, who won the gold medal in the National Games, will shine the name of Punjab and the country by winning the gold medal in the Paris Olympics-2024.

Sports Minister Meet Hare said that the Punjab government will leave no stone unturned to give due respect to the sportspersons. Meet Hare has assured all possible help from the state government to 23-year-old Akshdeep Singh, a resident of Kahne village in Barnala. Meanwhile, Akshdeep Singh’s coach Gurdev Singh and sports director Amit Talwar were also present.
