Bureau report : Jathedar Shri Akal Takht Giani Raghbir Singh has taken strict notice of the neglect and illegal occupations regarding the maintenance of Gurdhams in Pakistan and has also issued instructions to the Pakistan Gurdwara Management Committee.
Jathedar Sahib said that after the partition of 1947, it is the responsibility of the government of Pakistan to take care of the Sikh Gurdhams in Pakistan. But the government there has failed to do this due to which the important shrines of the Sikh panth are disappearing due to the neglect of the government. These places describe the glorious history of the Sikh community.
Jathedar Gyan Raghbir Singh said that the restoration of the martyrdom shrine of the great martyr of the Sikh community, Bhai Mani Singh Ji, has started. He said that it is the duty of the government of Pakistan not to be careless in maintaining the historical places associated with Sikhism. Not only these, Jathedar Sahib also expressed concern over the illegal occupation of Sikh historical places. Jathedar Sahib said that the Pakistan government should vacate the illegal encroachment and establish Sri Guru Granth Sahib there again according to the norms.
Jathedar Sahib demanded that the government of Pakistan should allow the Sikh pilgrims to visit all the historic Gurdwaras instead of visiting only a few selected Guru Ghars, so that the prayer of open darshan Deedar would be successful. Apart from this, he instructed the Pakistan Gurdwara Management Committee to pay attention to it by establishing contact with the Government of Pakistan and to liberate the Gurdwara from illegal possessions and implement Guru Merya.
Singh Sahib also asked the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee to write a letter to the Government of India in this regard to release the occupied Gurdhams in Pakistan.
