Amritsar: The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee planted saplings at Guru K Bagh here today, celebrating the Gurtagaddi Diwas of the seventh Patshah Sri Guru Harirai Sahib Ji as Environment Day. Earlier, Sri Akhand Path Sahib was offered at Gurdwara Sri Manji Sahib Diwan Hall belonging to Sri Darbar Sahib. On this occasion, Bhai Sukhpreet Singh’s Ragi Jathe performed Gurbani Kirtan and Narrator Bhai Harmitar Singh shared Gurmat thoughts.
Meanwhile, Shiromani Committee President Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami symbolically promoted the message of environmental conservation at Guru K Bagh located between Gurdwara Sri Manji Sahib Diwan Hall and Langar Sri Guru Ramdas Ji and paid homage to Guru Sahib by planting saplings. and paid respect On this occasion, Advocate Dhami said that the life of the seventh king is a guide as a very important inspiration for the welfare of humanity and it is the duty of all to promote this message. He said that the Shiromani Committee is working on the ground level along with environmental awareness. The process of planting gardens of one acre each within the historical Gurdwara Sahibs is going on by the Shiromani Committee. Till now, this decision has been implemented in many Gurudwaras and it is increased during the season of Pungare. He said that this Guru Ka Bagh at Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib is also a great inspiration for the Sangat. Different types of plants and hundreds of varieties of roses here convey the message of encouraging the environment conservation movement. He also appealed to the Sangat to plant more trees while congratulating the Sangat on the Gurtagaddi day of Sri Guru Harirai Sahib.
