Giving information, the police officers standing on the spot said that this gas has leaked near a grocery store, in which 6 people have died so far and many others have become sick and have been admitted to the hospital. The official said that an area of 200 to 300 meters has been evacuated and the NDRF team has been called to the spot. Along with this, a team of doctors has also been invited.

It was not immediately clear where the gas was leaking from and which gas it was. The passerby informed the fire brigade and the police about the gas leak. After the information, the police reached the spot and sealed the area.

Rajinderpal Kaur, MLA from here, said that there was a milk booth in the building and whoever went there to get milk in the morning, he fainted. After this, the incident came to light. People are fainting within 300 meters of the building where the gas has leaked. The details of the gas leak and its cause are not yet available.

Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has expressed grief over this incident. In a tweet, Chief Minister Mann said that the gas leak incident of the factory in Ludhiana’s Gyaspura area is extremely sad. Police, administration and NDRF teams are present at the spot and all possible help is being extended.
