Chandigarh, : The Shiromani Akali Dal has constituted a sub-committee to discuss the proposed Common Civil Code (UCC) and to prepare a case and submit it to the Law Commission. The meeting also took cognizance of the fact that the Aam Aadmi Party is threatening the media and the efforts to suppress the voice of the fourth pillar of democracy were also condemned in the meeting. The meeting also felt that some media houses have sold themselves to the Aam Aadmi Party government and are getting crores of rupees in advertisements. In the meeting, such media houses were told that they are committing a great sin against this sacred profession of journalism and insulting Punjab and Punjabis. The party said that now enough is enough and those channels and newspapers which have become Bhagwant Mann’s propaganda tool, they will be forced to reform their methods and do free and fair journalism or else the Akali Dal will boycott them.
