Punjab Vigilance Bureau on Friday PPSCL during the campaign against corruption in the state. Munish Kumar Jindal, Senior Executive Engineer (XEN) posted at Office Lehra, Sangrur, has been caught red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs.45,000.

Giving information in this regard, the spokesperson of the Vigilance Bureau said that the above accused has been arrested on the complaint of Sukhchain Singh, a resident of Hariau village of Lehra block. He further said that the said complainant approached the Vigilance Bureau and told that his relative Major Singh, a resident of village Dhindsa, block Lehra, wants to transfer his tube well connection to village Chhajali.

Major Singh being an elderly person has asked the complainant Sukhchain Singh to pursue his case to get the connection transferred. The complainant further stated that when he met Axion Munish Kumar Jindal in this regard, he demanded a bribe of Rs 45000 to change this tubewell connection.

The spokesman further said that the Patiala range of the bureau laid a trap after preliminary investigation and caught the above senior Axion red-handed by accepting a bribe of Rs 45,000 in the presence of two government witnesses. In this regard, the Vigilance Bureau has registered a case against Munish Kumar Jindal in the police station of Patiala range and started further action.
