Prisoners in Punjab Jails: Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr. Balbir Singh launched a month-long state-level screening campaign for screening prisoners in 25 jails of the state during a state function at the Central Jail in Patiala. The Health Minister announced that the IMA for continuous health check-up of the prisoners, including taking the services of psychiatrists and counselors to improve the mental health of the inmates of the jails. The screening campaign for the investigation will not only run systematically till 14th July 2023 but will continue continuously thereafter. He said that during this campaign, the main objective of counseling and screening related to these diseases is to prevent the spread of the disease by finding such patients and providing them with timely treatment.
