No party seems to be getting absolute majority in Pakistan. But the political tension has intensified over the formation of the government there. where Imran Khan PTI is staking its claim, while Nawaz Sharif-led PML-N is also trying to form the government. Along with this, Pakistan Army has appealed to form a coalition government in the country after the election results so far. But looking at the situation, it seems that it will not be easy for any party to form the government.

There is now instability in Pakistan with the government moving towards a trident parliament. General Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff of the country, urged the political parties to rise above personal interests and make concerted efforts to serve the people of the country. His statement has come at a time when former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had called for the formation of a coalition government in the country a day ago. It is believed that Nawaz Sharif has the support of the army.

More than 60 seats taken away, we will go to court: PTI

In case no party gets a majority in the election results, the team of Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, Mustafa Kamal, Farooq Sattar and Sindh Governor Kamran Tesori has left for Lahore after the invitation of PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif. The development comes a day after the government considered the possibility of forming a government led by PPP and PML-N. No party has got a majority in the elections.

On the other hand, PTI spokesperson Rauf Hassan claimed that more than 60 seats have been taken away from the party in the elections. He said that the party would approach the election tribunal and even the courts if necessary on this matter.

Azad is ahead with more than 100 seats

After the February 8 voting in the country, there has been a continuous delay in declaring the results, which is being criticized by political parties. Meanwhile, the Election Commission of Pakistan has so far announced the election results of 255 seats out of 265 seats in the National Assembly. Ex in prison Prime Minister Independent candidates backed by Imran Khan's Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Party (PTI) won 101 seats in the National Assembly.

While Nawaz Sharif's party Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) won 73 seats, Pakistan People's Party (PPP) 54 seats and Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) 17 seats. Minor parties have won the rest of the seats. Any party needs 133 seats in the National Assembly to form the government in the country. However, after the death of a candidate, an election was not held on one seat.

Activity on government formation

On the other hand, in view of no party getting a clear majority in the elections, political parties have become active to form a coalition government and manipulation attempts have started. A day ago, on Friday, former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif appealed to the allies of the former government to join hands to get the country out of crisis.

Three-time former prime minister Nawaz Sharif has already indicated in his speech on Friday that he is ready to join hands with independent parliamentarians to bring Pakistan out of crisis. Even if the PML-N and Bilawal Bhutto Zardari's party PPP win the remaining seats, they will not get a majority. In such a case, he will need the support of other parties or independent candidates to form the government. Both major parties are trying to form a coalition government.

Top leaders of PPP and PML-N met

Meanwhile, PPP chief Bilawal Bhutto and his father Asif Ali Zardari have held various meetings with Nawaz Sharif and his brother Shahbaz Sharif. “Zardari and Nawaz held a meeting at Jati Umrah, in which the two discussed forming a coalition government in Islamabad,” a PML-N leader said on Saturday.

Bilawal and Zardari met Shahbaz Sharif at the residence of Punjab Acting Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi. Shahbaz called JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman and MQM chief Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui and discussed the possibilities of government formation. Sources say that the matter regarding the post of Prime Minister is stuck between PML-N and PPP.

Imran's party will protest today

However, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has claimed that his party has not discussed a possible alliance with PML-N, PTI or any other political parties.
