Vigilance has formed a special investigation team to probe the multi-crore sanitary pad scam that took place two years ago. It is alleged that 2.5 crore double-axle sanitary pads were purchased by circumventing the rules. According to vigilance sources, an investigation has been started under the leadership of an AIG level officer to find out the role of former cabinet minister Aruna Chaudhary and senior officials.
It is being investigated that through which authorities the file was passed before approval by the minister? The authorities will be questioned. It may be mentioned that the Additional Chief Secretary of Social Security Welfare and Women and Child Development Department, Kripa Shankar Saroj, exposed this matter before his retirement and submitted a report to Vigilance.
On the other hand, Sukhdeep Singh DPO, who is involved in this buying and selling, said that the charges against us are wrong. No irregularities have been committed in this procurement process. Members of the Purchase Committee, Rajveer Singh and Gurinder Singh Maur are regular employees of the Government and do not work on contract basis.

On August 11, 2021, the Purchase Committee ordered the supply of sanitary pads for a total of 8 months from August to March 2022 at the same rates as before. The agreement with the Controller of Storage was until May 2021. The order was extended to the concerned company for 8 months.
