Hoshiarpur: Today again a big accident happened in Garhshankar sub-division of Hoshiarpur in Punjab. An out-of-control truck hit the Sangat who was going to offer obeisance on the occasion of Baisakhi at the shrine of Shri Guru Ravidas Ji, Khuralgarh Sahib. There is information that 8 people died on the spot in this accident. While more than 15 people have been injured in this accident.
The injured have been taken to Civil Hospital Garhshankar with the help of people. Sangat was going to Khuralgarh on foot in the morning. Meanwhile, a truck going towards Khuralgarh suddenly went out of control and crushed the pilgrims. After the accident, there is chaos at the spot.
DSP Daljit Singh Khakh said that eight people died when a truck ran over them in Garhshankar area of Hoshiarpur district. The incident took place when he was on his way to Charan Choh Ganga Khuralgarh Sahib in Garhshankar sub-division.
Earlier yesterday, the tractor trolley of Ludhiana pilgrims who were going to offer obeisance on the occasion of Baisakhi fell into a ditch near village Mansowal on Khuralgarh Garhshankar Road, due to which 3 pilgrims in the trolley died on the spot.
The pilgrims killed in the accident were identified as Jasvir Singh, Harry and Baba Sada Singh. All the three were residents of Bodal village in Samrala district of Ludhiana. Devotees also suffered serious injuries in this accident.
All these devotees are residents of Bodal village in Ludhiana district. On the occasion of Baisakhi, they came to offer obeisance at Sri Khuralgarh Sahib, the abode of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji. It was being told that the devotees had tied a water tanker behind the trolley and a generator behind it. As the tractor trolley began to descend the hill, the pressure of the water tanker and generator from behind came on the tractor. Due to this, the tractor went out of control and fell into a 100 feet deep ravine. It is being told that this route is very dangerous. Accidents like this have happened many times.
