Books tagged with NEP have reached various book shops in the city. Samples of books have also been delivered to schools. In this, due to changes in the content of books, children cannot study from old books in the class even if they want to. Different publishers have changed the content of the book and also increased the rate.
The increase in the price of paper is also the main reason
MK Sinha, manager of Boring Road book shop Gyan Ganga, told that the publishers are telling the increase in the rate of paper as the main reason for the increase in the price of books. He told that the publishers say that the paper which was earlier available for Rs 160, now its rate has gone up to Rs 250. On the other hand, Seema Singh, principal of St. Cairns High School, told that the rates have also increased due to the change in the content of the books. He told that activity based pattern has been added in the books of junior section. On the other hand, Sister Mridula, principal of Carmel High School, said that this time a lot of activity-based content has been added to children’s books and pages have also increased in different class books.
