Rahul Gandhi vacated his official bungalow

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi vacated his official residence at 12 Tughlaq Road on Friday. Their belongings have been shifted to Mata Sonia Gandhi’s residence at 10 Janpath. This bungalow was his official residence for about 19 years, but after he became a Member of Parliament, he was ordered to vacate the bungalow.

In fact, on March 23, the Surat court sentenced him to 2 years in a defamation case. However, Rahul got bail after some time. Rahul’s Lok Sabha membership was canceled the very next day. On March 27, they were given a notice to vacate the bungalow. After receiving the notice, Rahul said that he has many good memories associated with the government bungalow.

Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge then suggested them to shift to his or Sonia’s bungalow. On March 27, the Lok Sabha Housing Committee sent a notice to Rahul to vacate the government residence at 12 Tughlaq Road. Time was given till April 24 to vacate the bungalow. The day after receiving the notice, Rahul sent a written reply to Lok Sabha Secretariat Deputy Secretary Dr Mohit Ranjan.
