The Punjab government has decided to enter the fray to buy the GVK Goindwal thermal power plant from the private sector. The Cabinet Sub-Committee is exploring the possibilities of procurement process, future power requirements etc. Financial arrangements and legal advice are also being taken in this regard. According to the details, PowerCom has already shown its interest in buying the Goindwal Thermal Plant. Next, the last date for submitting financial bids for the purchase of thermal is June 15. According to the sources, it has been given the green flag in the meeting of the ‘Board of Directors’ of Powercom.
