Bureau Report: The sit-in outside Punjabi University over the death of student Jashndeep Kaur has ended. The demands of the victim’s family have been accepted by the university administration and the police. According to the decision, one member of Jashandeep’s family will be given a government job, apart from this, a promise has been made to provide free education to one member of the family. A committee has been formed regarding the complaints of female students against Professor Surjit. Dr. Harshinder Kaur, retired judge Jaswinder has been included in this committee.

Apart from this, 21 days time has been given to cancel the 308 leaflets issued against the 21 students regarding the complaint of attack on Professor Surjit. Not only these, the decision on the dismissal of Professor Surjit will also be taken after 21 days. On the other hand, the students have also given a 10-day ultimatum to the administration that if the pace of action remains slow, then another dharna will be held.

Jashandeep Kaur, a student of Punjabi University, died last week. There were allegations that Jashandeep had asked Professor Surjit for leave due to ill health. He had trouble breathing. But when he did not get leave, his health worsened, after which the family took him along. Jashandeep Kaur died due to not getting treatment on time. After which the students Prof. When they protested against Surjit, the matter got heated and the students attacked the professor, after which the professor was admitted to the hospital. On the complaint of the professor, the police registered a case against the students. Infuriated by this, the students started a dharna.
