Jashandeep Kaur, a student of Punjabi University, died last week. There were allegations that Jashandeep had asked Professor Surjit for leave due to ill health. He had trouble breathing. But when he did not get leave, his health worsened, after which the family took him along. Jashandeep Kaur died due to not getting treatment on time. On the complaint of the professor, the police registered a case against the students. Infuriated by this, the students started a dharna.
