Patiala: A terrible fire has broken out in the exam branch of Punjabi University. On Thursday morning, smoke was suddenly seen coming out of this building and it turned into flames.
Two floors of the examination branch have been engulfed in fire. On receiving the information, the fire brigade reached the spot and till 10 o’clock the work of controlling the fire is continuing.
It is to be noted that the examination branch is an important branch of the varsity. Where all records related to students’ papers are present. In the fire that broke out on Thursday, there is a fear of burning a lot of records and other materials.
The cause of the fire is not known yet. According to the information received, while coming to duty at 7:30 in the morning, the employees saw smoke coming from the building and immediately informed the police about it.
2 fire brigade vehicles reached the spot and tried to control the fire inside by breaking the glass above the main door of the admin block. After about 2 hours of struggle, the fire was brought under control. Officer Raman Kumar said that we received information about the fire at 7:30 am. Let us tell you that after a lot of effort, the fire was brought under control.
