Along with this, the state government has submitted an application for the post of chairman of Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC) from Janjua on June 21. The state government had sent a letter to him about a month and a half ago to extend his service to the post of Chief Secretary.
A top official in the Chief Minister’s Office said that the state government had written that there was a need to retain Janjua as Chief Secretary, but due to lack of approval from the Centre, the state government has now started preparing Janjua for the new post.
On Wednesday, when reporters wanted to know about this from Vijay Kumar Janjua, he avoided all the questions. On the other hand, senior officials who want to get the post of Chief Secretary have started making their contacts from Chief Minister Mann to the Central Government in Delhi.
The names of Anurag Verma and KAP Sinha are foremost
