Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann appeals to the farmers who are suffering from nature to keep courage

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has today directed the officials to complete the work of special girdavari of the crop damaged by rain and hailstorm and distribution of compensation to the affected farmers in a timely manner.

Presiding over a meeting to take stock of the situation after the rain and hailstorm, the Chief Minister asked the officials to ensure that the Girdavari is completed within the stipulated time. He said that all kinds of damage to the crop should be ascertained so that compensation can be given to the affected parties. Bhagwant Mann asked the officials to ensure that compensation is given only to those farmers whose crops have been affected so that they do not face any crisis.

The Chief Minister said that before the distribution of compensation, public announcements should be made so that all people know about it. He said that no laxity in this work will be tolerated. Bhagwant Mann said that if the damage is more than 75 percent, the state government will compensate the farmers at the rate of Rs 15,000 per acre.

Similarly, the Chief Minister said that if the damage is from 33 to 75 percent, the farmers will be compensated at the rate of Rs 6750 per acre. Bhagwant Mann said that along with this, 10 percent compensation will be given to the workers so that they do not face any financial difficulties. He also said that Rs 95,100 will be given as compensation to those whose houses have been completely damaged, while Rs 5,200 will be given to those whose houses have suffered minor damage.

The Chief Minister asked the officials to ensure the completion of this work as soon as possible to give relief to the farmers. He asked senior officials to personally monitor the progress of this work and submit daily reports to him. Bhagwant Mann reiterated the state government’s commitment to ensure the welfare of farmers and farm workers.
