Punjab Police arrested 11th accused of Mohali RPG attack

The war against anti-social elements on the directives of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has achieved major success after Punjab Police arrested Gurpinder alias Pindu, who played a key role in the Rocket Propelled Grenade (RPG) attack. This information was given by Director General of Police (DGP) Punjab Gaurav Yadav here on Friday. It is to be noted that on May 9, 2022, an RPG was launched at the Intelligence Headquarters at Mohali at around 19:45 hrs. There was an attack.

The arrested accused Pindu, a resident of Bhura Kona village of Khemkaran, is said to be a close associate of Canada-based terrorist Lakhbir Singh alias Landa and was in constant touch with accused Nishan Singh and Charat Singh during the said attack.

DGP Gaurav Yadav said that on April 25, 2022, Muljam Charat Singh, Nishan Singh and Baljinder Rambo brought a consignment of RPG and assault rifle from Tarn Taran to Amritsar and kept the consignment at Pindu’s house near Alfa Mall in Amritsar. He further said that the accused had also sheltered the two shooters – Deepak and a minor – in his house on the same night.

It may be mentioned that with the arrest of accused Gurpinder Pindu, Punjab Police has arrested nine accused in this case so far, while another accused who is a minor and was involved in the attack was arrested by Delhi Police and another accused identified as Deepak Kumar, was recently arrested by the National Investigation Agency (NIA), taking the total number of arrests to 11.

Earlier, Charat Singh, Nishan Singh, Jagdeep Singh, Baljinder Singh Rambo, Kanwarjit Singh Bath, Anantdeep Singh Sonu, Baljit Kaur Sukhi, Lovepreet Singh Vicky were already arrested by the Punjab Police.

It may be mentioned that Punjab Police is trying to make the state crime free as per the thinking of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann.
