Chandigarh: The Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann is committed to the welfare of all sections of the state. To achieve the same objective, the Punjab government has implemented various labor welfare schemes for the social and economic advancement of the construction workers.

Labor Minister Anmol Gagan Mann explained about the Shagan scheme of the state government on Friday. He said that a registered construction worker in Punjab is eligible to get an amount of Rs 51,000 under the Shagan scheme of the Punjab Building and Other Construction Workers Board (BOCW Board) for the marriage of their daughters. Construction workers can take the benefit of this scheme for marriage of up to 2 girls.

Further, Minister Mann said that if a female construction worker who is registered with the BOCW Board is also entitled to receive Shagan amount for her marriage, provided her registered parents have not availed the scheme for her marriage earlier. be

The minister added that any registered construction worker can apply to avail the Sagun scheme within six months after the marriage of his daughter. He said that to validate the marriage, it is necessary to submit the certificate issued by the Marriage Registration Authority along with the application form.

He said that the Punjab government is committed to making the economic condition of the working class stronger.
