Punjab government issued UDID card to disabled persons: Minister Baljit Kaur

The Punjab government has issued UDID cards to 3,07,219 disabled persons of the state till 23 March 2023. Minister Dr. giving more information in this regard. Baljit Kaur said that Unique Disability Identity Cards are issued to the disabled persons to benefit from all the schemes and services of the Central and Punjab Government on the basis of a single card and its database is being prepared at the national level.

The cabinet minister said that the Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann is committed to the welfare of disabled persons. He said that 3,07,219 UDIDs have been issued to eligible persons with disabilities till March 23, 2023 and according to the daily report shared by the Government of India, the state of Punjab has got the 10th position.

Dr. Baljit Kaur said that apart from this, a disability cell has been created by the Punjab government for disabled persons. He said that this dedicated cell would be a single window platform for availing the schemes for disabled persons. He appealed to the disabled persons of the state to apply for UDID card by contacting service centers, district social security offices or civil hospitals so that they are not deprived of the benefits of government schemes.
