Patiala, February 20: Sikh prisoner Balwant Singh Rajoana, convicted for the assassination of former Punjab Chief Minister Beant Singh, on Monday clarified that he had nothing to do with the Quami Insaaf Morcha in Mohali. He also questioned the intention of the organisers.
Balwant Singh Rajoana made this statement while he was being taken to Government Dental Hospital from Patiala Central Jail on Monday. A heavy police force accompanied him to the hospital. Rajoana had been complaining of dental issues for some time.
Balwant Singh Rajoana said, “I want to make it clear that he has no links with the Qaumi Insaaf Morcha. I belong to the Shiromani Akali Dal and will remain an Akali.”
At the same time, he urged the Quami Insaaf Morcha to reveal its political affiliation.
