The Vigilance Bureau team caught a bribe of 4 lakhs from MLA Amit Ratan’s close friend in the parking lot of Circuit House in Bathinda and then he was arrested. Later the MLA was also arrested. The Bathinda court rejected his bail on April 11, after which Amit Ratan filed a bail petition in the High Court. Amit Ratan was arrested by the police from Rajpura in the middle of the night. The MLA had demanded a fair investigation into the matter, the MLA argued that the Vigilance had given him a clean chit. But after this, an audio of the sarpanch’s husband came out in the bribery case, in which the MLA was heard talking about the bribe. Amit Ratan was arrested after the audio.
